Get a free $5 Target gift card from Lilaguide!

There have been a lot of great Target deals lately and $5 can go a long way if you’re matching up coupons with other great deals. Lilaguide has a promotion right now where you get a $5 Target gift card for writing ten reviews. The reviews can be for local businesses or baby gear/baby related items.

The details for this promotion are here and here.
I have earned gift cards from Lilaguide several times in the past, and so they are definitely a legit site. If you have written reviews to earn a gift card in the past, you are not eligible for this promotion.

Deals for the week all in one spot!

I know that my blog can get overwhelming (at least this is what I’ve been told), especially if you are new, so I thought I’d post some of the deals for the week all in one spot:

CVS – You can find the weekly ad/coupon match ups here, the monthly deal coupon match ups here, and my weekly scenarios here.

Diapers.com – You can still get great deals on diapers without ever leaving your house! Check out all the details here.

Gap – Today is the last day of the 30% off sale. Take an extra 30% off new arrivals and get free shipping when you spend $150 or more when you enter the code SPRING at check-out. Get 3% cash back when you shop through Ebates.

Kohls – Save an extra 20-40% off selected Food Network cookware. Shop their three day specials in store (Through Tuesday) and their four day specials online (through Wednesday): 70% off selected winter coats for women, 50% off Urban Pipeline tops and jeans for boys, 60% off selected fine jewelery, 15% off entire stock of Kitchen Aid stand mixers. They are also having their Gold Star clearance where you can save 60-80% off original prices. The BEST part is that they are offering .99 shipping (if you’ve ever shopped at Kohls.com, you know that shipping can be killer sometimes!) Get an extra 4% cash back when you shop through Ebates.

Kroger – The Mega sale will reportedly continue for another week! You can access the match ups here and my scenario from my first trip here. If you want to order coupons to match up with some of the deals, I totally recommend The Coupon Clippers. Turn around time is fast and the prices are reasonable.

Old Navy – Today is the last day of the 30% off sale. Take an extra 30% off new arrivals and get free shipping when you spend $150 or more when you enter the code SPRING at check-out. They also have more clearance markdowns starting at $1.99 and up. Click here for the details. Get 3% cash back when you shop through Ebates.

Target – Save up to 75% online when you shop their clearance sale here. They are also offering free shipping on many items when you spend at least $50. Get 4% cash back when you shop through Ebates.

Click here to find out how you can get free juice and really cheap (or free) snack items. Also, check out your baby section. Many stores have baby gear on clearance for 30-75% off. People have reported finding the Sit ‘n Stand stroller for $32. Children’s clothing is also on clearance for 30-50% off. Some areas are reporting that their stores have already started clearancing the “value packs” (at my store, these were back in the area were the seasonal decor is usually)

The Children’s Place – If you haven’t taken advantange of their great clearance sale yet, it’s not too late! Their “Monster Sale” is still going on. Take an additional 50% off already reduced clearance items. Get 3% cash back when you shop through Ebates.

Walgreens – I have had a hard time getting into the Walgreens deals lately. I spent all of my RR and am waiting for my rebate gift card. I hate spending money OOP! Becky has some great coupon match-ups on her blog. There are some decent deals this week, but the only thing I really see myself doing is this because we need a refill anyway:

Printer Cartridge Refill – $5.00
-$5.00 MIR (from the Easysaver catalog)
= FREE

FREEBIES AND OTHER “NOTEWORTHY” THINGS:

Free Bath and Body Works – The details and printable coupon are here.

Free Earrings from Darcus Tori – Manda posted about this on her blog. You get a free pair of heart-shaped amethyst earrings (a $59.99 value) when you use code 0801 at check-out. You do have to pay shipping. Check out the details here.

Lila Guide: $10 Target Gift Card Promotion

I have posted about how much I love Lila Guide several times now. Thanks to patientlywaitingforu on NBBC for sharing this!

Lila Guide has a new promotion. Here are the details:

1) You will get $5 for starting a parenting group

2) If you have at least 5 members (not including yourself) by Jan 30, you will get another $5. Members must be unique, real parents with verified email addresses (for example if the same person creates 5 accounts and joins their own group it won’t be counted).

Also don’t forget if you are just signing up you will also get $5 Target gift card by writing 10 reviews.

3) The promotion is open to anyone. Once you have completed the promotion, you must e-mail Shannon at sguyton @ lila guide . com (spaces removed, of course) to let her know your username and group name (I would attach a link to your group, too!)

If you haven’t signed up for Lila Guide yet, you really should! If you want more information about Lila Guide, check out this link for some of my other posts about the site (or feel free to post your questions here, as well).

Here’s the link to my group. It’s about potty training boys. I already have all of the members I need, but I sure could use some advice if anyone is interested!

Savings Saturday: $40 weekly grocery budget

I used a few gift cards to help pay for purchases this week. Target frequently has deals (ranging from diapers to razors to cereal) where you can earn a $5 gift card for purchasing certain items. I always try to keep a $5 Target card to “roll” into these deals, which is basically what I did today (I used a $10 gift card I earned from Lila Guide).

I also transferred a prescription to Randalls and got a $30 gift card. If you have Safeway/Randalls, there is a coupon in the paper this week for a $30 gift card with any NEW or transferred prescription. Coupons for new prescriptions are hard to come by, and the coupon is good through 2/7/09, so you may want to pick up a few extra ads 🙂 In my area, CVS, Walgreens, Kroger, and Randalls all accept competitor pharmacy coupons.

Here’s what I got for $32.25 OOP this week. I actually didn’t realize that I was so far under because I did my shopping this morning in a hurry. I will probably go back to Target and get a canister of Instant Breakfast (my husband loves it and it is on price cut for $4.49 right now, so it’ll be $3.49 with the $1 off coupon from last week’s inserts) and 5 more boxes of the Kashi breakfast bars (they are on price cut for $2.75 and there are $2 off coupons from Kashi and Vocal Point). That will bring my total for the week to $39.49 (there are no taxes on groceries in my area).

CVS/Target/Kroger combined –

Target – 3 boxes Electrasol ($3.25 through this week, used 3 $2.50/1 coupons), 1 bag baked Ruffles (used $1 Lays printable from Smartsource.com and $1 Target Lays printable), 6 boxes Kashi breakfast bars (used one free coupon from Vocal Point and 5 $2 off coupons from Kashi), Hillshire Farms lunchmeat (used a $.55/1 coupon and there is a TMF peelie attached, so I will get $ back), bag of boneless skinless chicken breasts, 4 cans chicken broth, 2 packages Old El Paso taco seasoning (used $1.10/2 printable), Sara Lee bread, Kraft cheese sticks (used $1 printable), 10 Sobe Life water (used .50/1 hang tags attached to bottles), Juicy Juice 8 pk (used $1 off coupon), MP heavy whipping cream

Used $10 Target gift card from Lila Guide, spent $20.10 OOP, got $5 Target gift card back (for purchase of Sobe Life water)

Kroger – celery, vanilla wafers, salad mix, bag of grapefruit, bell peppers, cataloupe, enchilada sauce, ranch dip mix, canned pineapple, cucumbers
$12.15 OOP

CVS – 2 bags of kitchen trash bags – $11.35, used $3 off any CVS brand purchase, $8.85 OOP (paid w/ $9 ECB adjusted down) Also, in the picture below, you will see two packages of plastic cups and 2 boxes of CVS Cold & Sinus

**The next few weeks at CVS are looking pretty grim, so I have been “burning” my ECBs (meaning I’m using them to buy things that I need but that are not necessarily generating ECBs). If you haven’t taken advantage of the $3 off any CVS brand purchase coupon yet, you really should. This week the CVS brand items are BOGO 50% off and the vitamins are BOGO free!

Randalls – 5 boxes Pop Tarts (.99/each with super coupon), baby carrots, 2 pounds of bananas, 2 gallons milk – paid $10.92 on gift card from prescription transfer

Here are my updated savings totals:
Baby Emergency fund – last week’s total was $672, I earned $11 from Associated Content this week which will be applied to this fund for a total of $683 (Goal = $1000)
Gift savings – $132.42 (Goal = $1500)
Rolling entertainment fund – $0 (Goal = $500)

Here’s how much I have saved at individual stores:
Total Target savings – $69.70 to date
Total CVS savings – $70.53 (not updated, will update later today once I gather all my receipts!)
Total Kroger savings – $21.34
Total Randalls savings – $21.02

**If you’re looking for spreadsheets to help you track your savings, there are some good ones here on the Mommy Snacks blog
