St. Patrick’s Day Countdown

Here is a great way to have a little fun with St. Patrick’s Day and to teach your kids a little along the way.  I am loving this idea, especially since next week is Spring Break and I am all for ways to keep my kids entertained all week long.  It is going to take a bit of preparation on my part and I think that I will tweak a few of the ideas and maybe not do as many of them each day, but I really think the kids are going to have a lot of fun.  Thanks Kelly at Little Wonders’ Days!

Here’s where to go to find out how to make this and to get the printables -> St. Patrick’s Day Countdown Tutorial and Printables

St. Patrick’s Day Craft: Shamrock Headband

My girls pretty much refuse to wear anything unless it is pink or purple, so trying to get something green on them for St. Patrick’s day is somewhat of an uphill battle.  I really like this idea of a simple shamrock headband.  I think they would be willing to wear this for a day, especially if I added some touches of pink to it.  Thanks Laura for sharing!

Here’s what you need to make this:

  • Stretchy handband in a color of your choice.
  • Felt in green, white, black
  • Tacky Glue
  • Scissors
  • Iron
  • Fiskars Oval Shape Cutter Template (optional)
  • Fiskars Heart Shaped Squeeze Punch (optional)

St. Patrick’s Day Craft: Kiss Me Wood Art

  • 3/4 inch MDF (trace letters and cut out)

  • Spray paint
  • 12 inch 2×4
  • vinyl (Pattern on 2×4 and “I’m Irish”)
  • gorilla Glue
  • sand paper

St Patrick’s Day Craft: Shamrock Wreath

With Valentine’s having come and gone, it is on to the next holiday… St. Patrick’s Day!  I must admit that this holiday tends to go fairly unnoticed in our house, but I am really going to try to change that this year.  I think this wreath is a great place to start.  It is actually fairly easy to make, which makes it all the more appealing to me.  Thanks Lisa at Spare Time Sanity for the idea!

Here’s what you need to make this wreath:

  • Small sheet of styrofoam for the stem
  • 3 – 6″ styrofoam hearts
  • 1 yard of green felt
  • Straight pins
  • hot glue gun
