Once you buy your flip flops, you can use them to make these super cute frugal flip flops like I made with my daughter last summer:

Here’s what you need to make them:

  • Flip flops- $1
  • 1 stem flowers – $1.99 on average (prices may vary)
  • Jewels – $3.49 on average (prices may vary)
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Pull the stem and backing off the flowers and hold it together.  (You may want to use the glue gun to glue the layers together).    Glue the jewel in the flower and wait until the glue has dried and it’s secure.  Glue the flower onto the flip flops and you’re ready to go.  As my kids would say, “easy peasy”

You could also add ribbons, pom poms, bows, and more!  Make sure you grab a Michael’s or Hobby Lobby coupon to save even more!

Thanksgiving Craft: Pinecone Turkey

This is the perfect craft for those rainy days when your kids are bored and need something to do.  It has been rainy here for a few days now and my kids are stir crazy because they can’t play outside.  They have been begging for “something special” to do.  This pinecone turkey is so great because I already have all the supplies I need to make it.  Yay for not having to make an extra trip to the store in the rain!  Even better, I can use the finished product as placecards for Thanksgiving dinner.  I love when I can kill two birds with one stone.  Thanks to Amazing Moms for the great idea.

Here is what you need to make these Pinecone Turkeys:

  • yellow card stock or construction paper
  • brown card stock or construction paper
  • glue
  • scissors
  • wiggly eyes
