More Kroger deals are coming – get your coupons ready!

I know that we’ve had a lot of fun at Kroger lately. I’m happy to report that the fun is not over yet. In some areas, the “Daytona 500 Event” has already started. In my area, it won’t start until Wednesday, but I’ve been looking at the ads for other areas to get an idea about what coupons I need to stock up on!

ETA: The Pull Ups were not working in my area. They are reportedly working in some places. Before you buy them, make sure that they are part of the deal.

Menu Planning Monday: My Menu for the week of 2/1/09

SundayRice a Roni chicken casserole – this came from Marci’s blog and my kids love it. It’s a standby for me when I want to cook something quick and easy. We were originally going to have chicken tortilla soup, but then my husband got invited to a Super Bowl party, and I figured there was no sense making that for just the three of us since I knew the kids wouldn’t really enjoy it anyway.

MondaySimple Italian Chicken breasts (slow cooker meal)

TuesdayHam and Swiss Casserole

Ingredients:
1 8 oz pkg wide egg noodles, cooked and drained
2 cups ham, cubed
2 cups Swiss cheese, shredded
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream

In a 9X13 pan, layer noodles, ham, and cheese; mix lightly. In a separate bowl, mix the soup and sour cream together. Pour soup mixture over the other ingredients in the pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Cover during the first half of baking.

WednesdayCrockpot chicken and rice

ThursdayTaco Pie – This recipe comes straight from the Bisquick website! It’s easy to make and my kids love it, too!

FridayHam to go biscuits – This is actually my adaptation of a “chicken to go biscuits” recipe because I have some canned ham that I want to use

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 dash pepper
1/2 cup milk
1 can ham
1 1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sliced drained mushrooms
1 can buttermilk biscuits
1 egg, beaten
3 cups cornflakes, crushed

Directions:
Heat oven to 375 degrees.

In saucepan, melt butter, stir in flour, salt and pepper until blended. Add milk, cook 1 minute or until thickened, stirring occasionally. Stir in chicken, cheese and mushrooms, set aside.

Separate biscuit dough into biscuits. Pat each into 5 inch circle. Place 1/3 cup chicken mixture on each biscuit circle. Wrap dough around chicken mixture, pressing edges to seal.

Dip rolls in egg, then coat with crushed cornflakes. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown.

SaturdayLasagne – I use this recipe from Barilla – I love their “oven ready” lasagne noodles. It makes the whole process so simple!

Target: new IP coupons

There are new Target IP (internet printable) coupons up on Target.com.

Here are some of my favorites:

*$1/1 Flat Earth chips
If you have the $1/1 Smartsource printable that was available last month, this makes them .50/bag

*$1/2 Milk Bone treats
If you have the BOGO free coupon from this week’s inserts, they will be $1.69 for two bags

*$1/2 Kelloggs Pop Tarts
If you have the $1/1 Kelloggs peelies and they are still on price cut, they will be .34 for two boxes

These coupons are from today’s inserts and also match up well with manufacturer’s coupons:

*$1/1 Carnation instant breakfast
There are $1/1 blinkie coupons by the Carnation instant breakfast in the grocery store. The canisters and boxes are on price cut at my store for $4.49, which makes them $2.49 with both coupons! We love this stuff!

*$1/2 Juicy Juice
There are $1/1 Juicy Juice coupons from a recent insert. The juice boxes go on sale 3/$7 fairly often, which will make them .83 for a package of juice boxes when they are on sale!

*$2/5 Lean Cuisine meals
There are $1/2 printable coupons here. These go on sale 4/$10 fairly often. So, you would pay $8.50 for five meals using coupons (which is $1.70/meal)

You can find more Target deals in this post.

The Sobe Life water deal is also back this week. You get a $5 Target gift card when you buy ten 20 ounce bottles of Sobe Life water. The water is priced 10/$10. Look for .50/1 hang tangs on the waters at your store.

Here’s how it works out:

Buy 10 Sobe Life water = $10
Use 10 .50/1 coupons – $5

Total OOP = $5, get a $5 Target gift card back

Use your $5 gift card to “roll” into doing the deal again.

If you can’t find the hang tags at your Target store, check for tear pads or hang tags at grocery stores or gas stations.
