Cooking With Kids Thursday: Gingerbread Playdough!

I came across this recipe on Pinterest for Gingerbread Playdough and just had to share.  I think it is such a neat idea.  My kids love playdough and we have spent hours making shapes and foods with it, but I have never seen scented playdough before.  This would be so fun to make with the kids then they can “bake” with the playdough while I am doing all of my Christmas baking.  I am thinking that I might also make some and find a cute way to package it in smaller sizes for the kiddos to give to their classmates for Christmas.  Thanks for the recipe The Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle!

Here’s what you need to make this:

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp orange extract {optional}
