The Best Deals on Toy Story 1 and Toy Story 2!

Today is the day ~ Toy Story 1 and 2 are being re-released in a Blu Ray/DVD combo pack.  I’m really excited about this (in case you haven’t noticed from recent posts).  I am planning on saving these for my son’s birthday which is 2 1/2 weeks away!

If you pre-ordered your movies at Toys ‘R Us, here’s the breakdown for you:

*Take your receipt with the pre-order card attached  (you have to have this to “prove” that you paid the $5 deposit on each movie)

*Your movies will ring up at $21.99/each

*$10 will be deduced because you paid a deposit last week

*You should receive an instant $10 deduction for the promotional store credit they are offering this week

*If you have purchased the movies previously, enter your UPC codes into the “code” box on your Disney Movie Rewards account and you will receive two links for printable Toy Story 1 and 2 upgrade coupons!   If you don’t have the upgrade coupons, there are $5 printable Toy Story 1 and 2 coupons (make sure you select the coupons that are valid in the USA because there are also coupons for Canada).

Your total out of pocket will be $3.98 if you have the upgrade coupons or $13.98 if you don’t have the upgrade coupons.  Don’t forget to enter your “Magic Code” found inside the box of each movie to get a free movie ticket to see Toy Story 3 when it comes out in June!  My kids are so excited to see the movie and I’m so excited to have “free” tickets to see it!  I’m even more excited that I was able to get three movies (we bought Princess and the Frog last week) and two movie tickets for less than what it would have cost us for two tickets alone!

If you didn’t pre-order the movie, Toys ‘R Us is still the cheapest place to purchase it.  Here’s the breakdown for that:

Buy Toy Story 1 – $21.99
Buy Toy Story 2 – $21.99

an instant $10 will be deducted from the store promotional credit

Use your Toy Story 1 and Toy Story 2 $10 printable upgrade coupons (from entering your UPC codes from previous versions into your Disney Movie Rewards account) or the Toy Story 1 and Toy Story 2 $5 printable coupons

Your total out of pocket will be $13.98 if you have the upgrade coupons or $23.98 if you have the $5 coupons

If you don’t have a Toys ‘R Us near you, Target also has a decent deal.  You may be able to price match using the Toys ‘R Us ad (or a Fry’s Electronics ad if you have one near you – their price is $19.97 this week), but this will be a YMMV because the Target version has an exclusive DVD-ROM game and some Target stores are very picky about having an “exact match.”  (if you are shopping at Target, make sure you check out my Target weekly deals post for other great deals)

Buy Toy Story 1 – $22.99
Buy Toy Story 2 – $22.99

an instant $10 will be deducted from the store promotional credit

Use your Toy Story 1 and Toy Story 2 $10 printable upgrade coupons (from entering your UPC codes from previous versions into your Disney Movie Rewards account) or the Toy Story 1 and Toy Story 2 $5 printable coupons

Your total out of pocket will be $15.98 if you have the upgrade coupons or $25.98 if you have the $5 coupons

If you are shopping at Toys ‘R Us for your movie, here are a few more deals you might want to check out:

*Hershey’s bagged Easter candy is $1.99 each.  There is a $2/3 Hersheys printable coupon on smartsource.com, so it’s like you get one bag for free when you buy 3 bags!  You pay $3.97 for all 3 bags.

*Johnson’s baby wipes are 3/$7 (through 3/25) – use the $1/1 Johnson’s baby product coupon from the 3-7 RP inserts and get 3/$4.  That’s not a bad deal if you need wipes! (this deal was in the BRU ad, not the TRU ad, but it had the TRU logo also)

*Little Tykes toys are Buy One, Get One Free!

Plus, a “Deal of the Day” today only: Buy 2 Strawberry Shortcake dolls or playsets, get one free. Plus, there is a printable coupon for $5 off a $20 Strawberry Shortcake purchase. The Strawberry Shortcake Mini Dolls are only $5.99. The Strawberry Shortcake Sweetest Styles set, Berry Bubbly Bath Set, and and Berry Stylish Mini Dressup Playset are all priced at $9.99 (according to online pricing, there may be others available in store).

Here’s a scenario:

Buy one Strawberry Shortcake playset priced at $9.99
Buy 2 Strawberry Shortcake Mini Dolls – $5.99/each

Use $5/20 Strawberry Shortcake printable coupon
$5.99 will be deducted automatically for the Buy 2, get 1 free promotion

Spend $10.98 OOP!

The Princess & The Frog/Toy Story deal is not quite dead….

If you already took advantage of this deal yesterday (or you’re tired of hearing about this deal), feel free to skip this post (although there is some scoop about a few other noteworthy deals at the end you might want to check out).  Also, I plan to have my Target and Walgreens match-ups up this evening.  I just also have to go back to work tomorrow, so I’ve been trying to get in as much family time as I can before I go back.

If you were feeling bummed because you thought you had missed out on the Princess & The Frog/Toy Story deal that I posted about yesterday, you can still get in on the deal.  The prices aren’t quite as good because The Princess & The Frog is no longer on sale, but you can still get a decent price when all is said and done.  This will ONLY work through tomorrow (3/22) because the Toy Story movies come out on Tuesday (3/23) and will no longer be available for pre-order.

Here’s the breakdown if you want to buy The Princess & The Frog Blu Ray/DVD combo pack:

Buy The Princess & The Frog Blu Ray/DVD combo – $34.99

Pre-order Toy Story 1 & 2 (you will be charged a $5 deposit for each movie)

Total before coupons and discounts = $44.99

an instant $15 will be deducted for pre-ordering both Toy Story movies

$5 MAY be deducted for pre-ordering (this was a glitch and worked for me last night, but some people have reported it is no longer working)

use your $10 Princess & The Frog printable coupon

Total OOP (after coupons and discounts) = $19.99 (possibly $14.99 if the “glitch” is still working at your store)

Then, on Tuesday, follow the steps here for buying Toy Story 1 and 2.  You will be charged $16.99 per movie because you prepaid $5 for each movie already.  Use your two $10 upgrade coupons plus the $10 promotional instant discount and you end up paying $3.98 out of pocket for both movies.  Your total OOP for all three movies will be $23.97 (possibly $18.97 if the $5 glitch works at your store).  That’s just $7.99 per movie!

Don’t forget about these rebate offers which will make your out of pocket even less when all is said and done.  You can do two of the three rebate offers below:

*Buy 2 participating Band Aid products and the Princess and the Frog and get a $5 MIR!  You can get Band Aids for free or close to free at Target!

*Buy Disney’s Princess and the Frog and one or more rolls of FrogTape, get a $5 MIR!

*Buy 2 Success Rice products and Princess and the Frog, get a $5 MIR!  There was a $.50/1 Success Rice product coupon in the 1-31 RP insert (which should double if your stores double) and a $1/2 Success Rice product coupon in the 3-21 RP insert.

I’m guessing we’ll see more rebates pop up for the Toy Story movies, too, but that’s just pure speculation!

While you’re at Toys ‘R Us, here are a few other deals you may want to take advantage of:

Last minute Princess & the Frog/Toy Story 1 & 2 Deal

I posted this morning about a deal on Toy Story 1 & 2 next week at Toys ‘R Us.

I was excited about that deal, but the deal might be even sweeter, today (3/20) only, if you buy Princess & the Frog there and pre-order both Toy Story movies at the same time.

Here’s the way this works:

*At Toys “R Us, there are reportedly pre-order cards in the movie section (the cards are reportedly the size of a movie case and are on a red and white sheet of paper with Buzz, Woody, and Jessie).  Pick one of these up along with a copy of the Princess and the Frog Blu ray combo.

1.  Buy the Princess & The Frog Blu Ray – $26.99

2.  Give the pre-order card to the cashier – pre-order the Toy Story 1 and 2 combo packs (they will charge you $5 for each pre-order)

You will receive a $15 credit instantly for pre-ordering both movies (some people are reporting that they received a $20 instant credit)

Use your $10 Princess & The Frog printable coupon

Total OOP = $11.99 ($6.99 if you get a $20 instant credit rather than $15)

Then, on Tuesday, follow the steps here for buying Toy Story 1 and 2.  You will be charged $16.99 per movie because you prepaid $5 for each movie already.  Use your two $10 upgrade coupons plus the $10 promotional instant discount and you end up paying $3.98 out of pocket for both movies.  Your total out of pocket for all three movies is $15.97 (or $10.97 if the $20 comes off instantly at your store).

DISCLAIMER:  I have not tried this myself, but many people are reporting on Slick Deals that this is working.  I bought my copy of Princess and the Frog at Toys ‘R Us, but didn’t even know about the pre-order option.  I am actually thinking about going back out to do this deal tonight before it is over!

UPDATE:  I just went and did this deal and I paid $7.01 out of pocket for Princess & The Frog Blu Ray/DVD combo and the pre-orders for Toy Story 1 and 2.  Some people have asked if the $10 off promotion will still come off next week if you pre-order both movies and I can’t guarantee that part will work, but the way I look at it is that I originally paid $16.99 (plus tax) for Princess & The Frog this week and I was going to pay $13.98 for both Toy Story movies next week, so even if the $10 doesn’t come off next week, I will still be paying almost $10 less than I had originally planned to pay.  Kelly also alerted me on Facebook that you get free Kissing Frogs with a $30 Princess & The Frog purchase.  If you buy the DVD and two egg decorating kits (priced at $1.79/each), you get the kissing frogs for free, too!

Hot deal on Toy Story 1 and 2 movies!

Toy Story 1 and 2 will be re-released in a DVD/Blu Ray combo pack on Tuesday, March 23rd.  There are some awesome deals on this, particularly if you have the original versions and are “upgrading.”

If you have purchased Toy Story 1 and 2 previously on DVD or VHS, make sure go to your Disney Movie Rewards account (or create one if you haven’t previously) and enter your UPCs into the “code” box on the right hand side of the pageAfter you enter each UPC, you will receive a link to print a $10 off coupon for your DVD/Blu Ray combo pack upgrade.

So far, the best price I have seen from ad scans is going to be at Toys ‘R Us.   Here’s the breakdown:

Buy Toy Story 1 Blu Ray/DVD Combo pack – $21.99
Buy Toy Story 2 Blu Ray/DVD Combo pack – $21.99

Receive an instant $10 promotional store discount for buying both movies
Use your $10 printable Toy Story 1 Upgrade coupon
Use your $10 printable Toy Story 2 Upgrade coupon

Spend $13.98 out of pocket ($7.99 per movie!)

The deal gets even better.  Once you have your movies, enter the “Magic Code” that is inside your box, and you’ll get a FREE Toy Story 3 movie ticket!

So, you end up with two movies and two movie tickets for $13.98!

The movie will be priced at $22.99 at Target, so you’ll pay $15.98 for both movies there.

If you don’t have the $10 upgrade coupons, you can still get a decent deal on both movies.  Here’s the breakdown: (if you shop at Toys ‘R Us)

Buy Toy Story 1 Blu Ray/DVD combo pack – $21.99
Buy Toy Story 2 Blu Ray/DVD combo pack – $21.99

Receive an instant $10 promotional store discount for buying both movies
Use $5 Toy Story 1 printable coupon
Use $5 Toy Story 2 printable coupon

Spend $23.98 out of pocket ($11.99 per movie)

Don’t forget to enter your “Magic Code” to get your free movie tickets!

(Thanks Slick Deals!)

The Best Deals on Disney’s The Princess and the Frog

My daughter has been waiting for this movie to be released for weeks.  I have to admit, I’m a little bit excited, too.  I was thinking about saving this for her Easter basket or her birthday, but I can’t wait, either, so we’ll be watching it as part of a family movie night tonight.  I posted about this deal last week, but thought I’d share it again since today is the day!

Here’s a breakdown of the best deals on the movie:  (I searched prices online for Best Buy, Target, Toys ‘R Us, and Walmart and these were the best prices – if you have seen a better price somewhere else, let me know!)

Target ~ The Blu Ray combo pack is priced at $26.99.  Get it for $16.99 using the $10 Princess and the Frog Blu Ray Combo pack printable coupon (the combo pack includes the regular DVD and the Blu Ray).  The “regular” DVD widescreen version will be priced at $15.99.  Get it for $10.99 using the $5 Princess and the Frog printable coupon.  If you take advantage of the two rebate offers listed below, you can get the Blu Ray combo pack for $6.99 after rebates or the regular DVD for just $.99 after rebates!

Toys ‘R Us ~ The Blu Ray combo pack will be priced at $26.99 and the regular DVD will be priced at $15.99 so you can get them for $16.99 or $10.99 after coupon just like you can at Target.

CVS ~ The Princess and the Frog regular DVD is priced at $19.99 and you get a $3 ECB when you buy it.  Use the $5 printable coupon and you end up spending $11.99 after coupon and ECBs.

Here’s the scoop on the rebate offers that tie in with this deal:  (photocopies of the movie receipt are acceptable for both offers!)

*Buy 2 participating Band Aid products and the Princess and the Frog and get a $5 MIR!  You can get Band Aids at Walgreens and Target for free or close to free this week!

*Buy Disney’s Princess and the Frog and one or more rolls of FrogTape, get a $5 MIR!

Have you seen the movie yet?  What did you think?
