Houston Aeros Breast Cancer Awareness Game: 3/11/2012

Treat your family to a night of fun and support a great cause at the same time!  This Sunday, 3/11/12, there is a Houston Aeros Breast Cancer Awareness game.  The game begins at 5;05 p.m.  A portion of all of the proceeds from tickets sold will be donated to the Young Survival Coalition.

Here are some of the events that will also be taking place during this game

•Silent Auction with donations from Aeros partners, local sports teams, restaurants
and area business.

•Houston Aeros Breast Cancer Awareness T-shirts will be available for $10 with
proceeds benefitting YSC.

•On Ice Human Pink Ribbon following the game for all those purchasing a T-shirt.

•Visit with women’s health related vendors throughout the game.

Tasty Treat Tuesday: Eclairs

My husband loves eclairs so he is super excited about this recipe!  I’ve never made eclairs before, thinking they were too hard to mkae, but this recipe actually seems doable.  Thanks Ana at Hidden Ponies for sharing!

Here’s what you need to make them:

CHOUX PASTRY:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4 large eggs

CUSTARD FILLING:

  • 1 (4 serving size) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk (or as called for on pudding package)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup icing sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

CHOCOLATE ICING:

  • 2 oz semisweet chocolate (or 1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips)
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 Tbsp hot water
