If you’re like me, you can always find a way to use a Target gift card! A few months ago, I joined a site called Lilaguide.com because they were offering a $5 Target gift card for writing reviews about places in your area. They are still offering this promotion, so if you haven’t signed up on their site already or written your reviews, you can find out how to do that here:
http://www.lilaguide.com/Promotions/

They now have a new promotion. If you sign up on the site and create a “group” and five other people join your group before September 15th, you will get a $5 Target gift card.

Here are the details of the promotion:

Start a free online parenting group on any parent-related topic or location that interests you, and as a thank you we will send you a $5 Target gift card!*

Perhaps you love to cook and want to share ideas for recipes (“start a group called Family Cooking”), or maybe you want to start a playgroup in your neighborhood (“Central Park Playgroup”).

If you get 5 members to join your group by September 15th, we will send you a bonus $5! (Use the “invite a friend” feature in your group to email your friends to join!)

Here’s how:

1) Log in to www.lilaguide.com – make sure your address is in your profile!

2) Click on the “Groups” tab or click here: www.lilaguide.com/groups and create a group on the topic or location of your choice

3) Email your username & group name to sguyton@lilaguide.com so we can track it

Thanks for your continued support,

The Lilaguide.com Team

*Rules: Promotion ends September 15, 2008. Members must be real parents with unique, valid email addresses. Reward applies to 1 group per person.

Feel free to post a link to your group in the comments here so that others can join!
If you’d like to join MY group, (please do!) you can find it here:

What’s the Bzz…..

About four years ago, I discovered a really cool website called BzzAgent.com The purpose of the site is to maximize on the power of “word of mouth marketing.” When you sign up on their site, you become a “Bzz Agent.” You respond to a variety of surveys about your interests and products you use, and based on your responses, you get invited to join different campaigns. Usually, once you join a campaign, you get to test a variety of products and spread the word to your friends and family. Each campaign usually includes free products (or coupons for free products) as well as coupons to share with others.

Some of the products I have gotten in the past include: Ralph Lauren perfume, Hershey’s Take 5 candy, Nutella, Skinny Cow milk, fantastik OxyPower, Hillshire Farms Entree salads, Arby’s Chicken Naturals, Coppertone sunscreen, Ziploc Zip ‘n Steam bags, Sonicare UV Sanitizer, Listerine Whitening strips, Chili’s Smokehouse bacon burger (this was one of our favorite campaigns!), Glade Wisp flameless candle, Claritin RediTabs, and Back to Nature Nuts and Trail Mixes. I have also gotten to read several different books.

What I’m Bzzing right now

Currently, I am a member of three separate Bzz Campaigns:

*Teddy Grahams Trail Mix: This has been a HUGE hit with my family! We all love the Bears & Bees mix. My daughter informed me that she NEEDED it for her snack/lunches when she starts school this week and made sure that she told her daddy that he was not to touch it because it was for her and ONLY her. A box does not last long around here.

You can read my full review about the mix here:

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/882055/product_review_teddy_grahams_trail.html?page=2&cat=22

They also have some great activities for preschoolers. You can access those here:

*Max Factor makeup: I just got my Bzz kit for this last week. It came with a full size ColorGenius Mineral Blush, Lipfinity Longwear Lipcolor, Lash Perfection Volume Couture Mascara, and a blush brush.

So far, the only thing I have tried is the Lipfinity Longwear Lipcolor, but I am in LOVE with it! There are two separate tubes. One is a tube with the colored lipstick. The lipstick is in a liquid type form and you apply it with a brush. You let it dry for 60 seconds, and then you apply the “moisturizing top coat” which looks like a clear tube of lipstick. I was amazed because I thought for sure that the color would come off on the clear tube, but it didn’t. I’m one of those people who constantly has to check my teeth after I apply lipstick because more often than not, I will have some on my teeth. Since I started using the Lipfinity Longwear Lipcolor, I no longer have that problem. The color does NOT come off, even after you apply the top coat. I have also found that the color lasts throughout the work day, so I just have to reapply the moisturizing top coat periodically to add a shine.

This lipstick is so easy that even those with little makeup sense (myself included) can apply it easily! You can find out more about Max Factor products here:

maxfactor.com

*Pedia-lax – I have not yet received my Bzz kit for this campaign, but my daughter has had her struggles with constipation and I know plenty of others who have kids in the same boat, so we’re looking forward to learning more about it!

If you want to get in on spreading the Bzz, check out the website here and sign up to be a Bzz Agent yourself!

Hot deals this week (8/31-9/6)

I haven’t been able to shop as much since I’ve gone back to work. I got “caught up” this morning while my husband watched my kids. There are LOTS of good deals this week. I’m grateful that I have Monday off, so I can take advantage of some of the deals this week!

*Spend $25 on Aveeno, get $10

*Gillette Venus or Vibrance razor – $9.99, get $3 ECB

*Pantene Pro-V, 3/$9.99, get $2

*CoverGirl Wetslicks – $5.99, get $5.99 ($1/1 coupon in this weeks inserts or BOGO free – you can only do the deal once though)

BOGO free deals:
*Life Fitness vitamins
*CVS supplements
*Kleenex facial tissue

Other deals:
Dawn – .99 (use .50/1 from P&G insert)
Tide – $5.49 (use $1/1 coupon)
Pop Tarts/Rice Krispie treats – $1.69 ($1/2 from recent Kelloggs insert, $10 MIR if you buy 10 items)

My scenarios (I decided to include these if people are new to CVSing and need ideas):
Transaction #1 – Buy Claritin $8.99 and Colgate $2.99
Use $4 Claritin from last week’s inserts, $1.50 Colgate from All You and $2/10 CVS coupon
Spend $4.48, get $3

Transaction #2 – Buy Cover Girl Wet Slicks $5.99, buy 2 Cover Girl Lip color $5.99 – use Cover Girl $1/1, Cover Girl BOGO free, and $2/10 CVS
Spend $2.99, get $5.99 – I needed new lip stick, so I’m excited about this 🙂
**If you are new to CVSing and have this week’s coupons, this is a nice way to start

Transaction #3 – Buy Tide, 2 Dawn, and Colgate – use Tide $1/1, 2 Dawn .50/1, Colgate $1.50/1 and $2/10 CVS
Spend $4.96, get $2

More scenario ideas (great if you are new to CVSing and don’t want to spend a lot of $$)
Transaction #1:
Buy Cover Girl Wet Slicks $5.99, buy 2 Cover Girl Lip color $5.99 – use Cover Girl $1/1, Cover Girl BOGO free, and $2/10 CVS Spend $2.99, get $5.99

Transaction #2:
Buy Pantene Pro-V Shampoo/Cond/Styling Product- 3/$9.99, Colgate – $2.99

Use another $2/10 CVS coupon, the $1.50 printable Colgate coupon, the free Pantene styling product coupon from this week’s inserts, and your $5.99 ECB from the CoverGirl deal. Spend .16 (plus tax depending on your area), get $4 in ECBs.

Transaction #3:
Colgate – $2.99 – use $1.50 manufacturer’s coupon – OOP $1.49
Dawn- .99 Cents – .50 Cent MFR = .49 cents OOP
Use your $2 ECB (They will have to adjust it down to $1.98), and get another $2 ECB! 🙂

SO……for $3.15 (and possibly tax), you get all of that stuff and still have $4 in ECB to spend next week!

**The CoverGirl Wetslicks and BOGO scenario ONLY works if you can find the Outlast lipsticks for $5.99 (the ad says prices start at $4.99, but my stores don’t have anything under $9.99). If you can’t, you need to revamp the scenario because if you try to buy two Outlast lipsticks for $9.99 and the $5.99 Wetslicks together, it will take the “free” off the $5.99 automatically and then with your coupon, one of the $9.99 will come off, but you will still end up paying $8.99.

Target deals: I haven’t seen the ad (we get the paper on Sunday) or ad scans, but I read about this on a few different sites. Apparently it is not in all areas, so check your ads first.

Kellogg’s products are on sale 4/$9. Buy 4, get a $5 gift card. Items I have seen listed are: Rice Krispie Treats (8 ct), Pop Tarts (12 ct), Special K bars, Fudge Shoppe cookies, and Cheez Its. There are $1/2 coupons for many of these items in the recent Kelloggs insert. There are .50/1 Pop Tart coupons on Afullcup.com. There are also Vocal Point coupons for $1/1 off the Special K bars and the $10 MIR when you buy 10 products if you haven’t done that yet. The beauty of this Target deal is you can buy 8 items (or 12 if you are going for the MIR) and get 2-3 $5 gift cards.

Here’s a Pop Tarts deal: Buy 10 Pop Tarts, use 5 $1/2 manufacturer’s coupons, use 10 .50/1 Target printable coupons. Spend $12.50, get $10 Target gift cards (send in MIR, get $10)

(There are LOTS of Kelloggs coupons on ebay NOW, but there won’t be as people see this deal…and what is available will be way expensive….check NOW!)
