Cooking With Kids Thursday: The Lorax Dinner

If your kids love Dr. Seuss stories, then they will love this meal.  It is based off the movie, The Lorax, but even if your kids haven’t seen it yet they will like this dish.  What a great way to celebrate Earth Day this Sunday, Aprill 22nd.  Thanks Toni Spilsbury for the idea!

Here’s what you  need to make this:

  • Cavatappi Pasta- 1 lb
  • steam-ready broccoli florets- 8 oz.
  • steam-ready asparagus tips- 8 oz.
  • Alfredo sauce- 1 jar
  • food coloring (to color the noodles while they are cooking)

HOUSTON: The Tillamook Cheese Loaf Love Tour is coming to the Houston Zoo!

I lived in Washington State for a few years and my husband was born and raised there.  One of the things I quickly grew to love while I was there was Tillamook Cheese!  While I was there, I even got to visit the Tillamook Cheese Factory a few times to see how cheese was made and taste yummy samples!  My husband has convinced our kid that a sandwich isn’t a sandwich without Tillamook cheese and we all fight over “daddy’s cheese” in our house! If you haven’t tried a grilled cheese sandwich or a burger with Tillamook cheese yet, you’re really missing out!

Since Oregon is a bit of a drive, I’m so excited to report that Tillamook is bringing the Loaf Love Tour to us in Houston!!

The Loaf Love Tour will be at the Houston Zoo on Saturday!  Starting at 9am, the first 100 fans wearing Tillamook orange will get in to the zoo for FREE! Those after 100 receive $1 off your ticket!   Their Brand Ambassadors will be sharing samples of our natural cheese, handing out coupons and cheesy recipes for you to take home and playing zoo bingo! The zoo will also be hosting lots of fun events for Earth Day!
