Free Weekend Family Fun and Activities Round-Up!

Looking for some free family fun this weekend?  Here is a round up of free activities and events.  It’s always a good idea to check with your local store before going to make sure that they are participating (especially if you’ve got a drive). Here is my top pick for the week!  We do the Bass Pro holiday events (they have them for Easter and Christmas) every year!

Apple Stores – Check your local store for weekly workshops and youth programs

Bank of America – Bank of America’s Museums on Us is offering cardholders can explore cultural institutions at some the most exciting cultural venues in the U.S. This weekend, May 2nd and 3rd, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholders can get free access to 150 participating museums in 92 cities.  Bank of America has also recently rolled out its Museums on Us site for mobile. You can check it out here on your mobile phone. It’s great for people who are traveling and want to check out if the city they are visiting has a participating museums.

Barnes & Noble – Saturday, May 2nd at 11 am, story time and activities featuring the children’s book What Do You Do With An Idea. Look here for a store near you.

FREE Comic Book Day – Saturday, May 2nd, celebrate and discover the amazing world of comic books on Free Comic Book Day! Taking place annually on the first Saturday in May, Free Comic Book Day is a single day when participating comic book specialty shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their shops!  Find out more details here.

Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores – Free demos every Saturday, check your store here for more details.

Lakeshore Learning – Saturday, May 2nd from 11-3 pm, kids can make a Thank a Teacher Tote Bag.

Lowes Build and Grow – The next class will be Saturday, May 9th at 10 a.m., kids can make a Mother’s Day Planter.  Free apron, goggles and patch are included.  Register for this class here

Pottery Barn Kids – Monday, May 4th through Sunday, May 10th kids can make a FREE tissue paper flower to give their moms for Mother’s Day.

Target – select a city to find free or reduced-price admission to arts and cultural events in your area, sponsored by Target.

The Home Depot – Saturday, May 2nd from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., kids can make a Picket Fence Photo Frame. All kid get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Check here for several do-it-yourself workshops.

Toys R Us – Come in store to celebrate Star Wars on Sun., May 3, 12-2pm. Make & Take a FREE & exclusive LEGO® Star Wars mini Wookiee Gunship.  Meet Geoffrey! Come dressed as your favorite Star Wars character and bring your camera to capture the moment.

Kids-Bowl-Free Kids Bowl Free – Registration for Kids Bowl Free has started and you can get your free weekly bowling passes starting April 1st! Find a participating bowling alley in your city and register your kids
