Dollar General Honors Veterans as Everyday Heroes

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dollar General. All opinions are 100% mine.

My grandfather served in World War II, and growing up, I can remember him sharing pictures and stories about his experiences.  We also lived near a military base, and at school and at home, we were always taught to honor and respect those serving in the military and our Veterans.  Now that I have children of my own, I'm hoping to help them have that same respect for those who have served and are currently serving our country.  This month, Dollar General has teamed up with P&G to help recognize and celebrate Veterans as our Everyday Heroes.

Sparky Edwards is being honored by Dollar General as this month's Everyday Hero.  He was an at-risk teenager who overcame many challenges.  He is now a Veteran who has committed himself to serving his community by working with at risk youth.  You can learn more about him by watching this inspirational video here–> Scott Paper Products

You can also help to honor our Veterans and Everyday Heroes by visiting your local Dollar General store and purchasing your favorite P&G products such as Crest®, Tide®, Bounty®, Pantene®.  It's an easy way to help support those who have given so much!

Here are a few more ways you can honor Veterans:

  • If you know a Veteran, thank them for their service
  • Teach your children about honoring Veterans and have them write a Thank You Note to a Veteran in your area
  • Visit a cemetery and place flowers or flags on the graves of Veterans
