Kroger deals, week of 8/13-8/19

Here are a few Kroger deals that I spotted this week: (you can view the full ad at www.kroger.com)

They have a promotion going where you get an instant $5 off when you spend $20 on selected products (marked with a yellow tag). Some of the ones listed include:

Gerber 3rd foods – 3/$2 (plenty of coupons if you sign up on their website – Gerber.com)
Gerber 2nd foods – 2 pack ($1)
Gerber 2nd foods – 2/$1

Juicy Juice – $2.44, get printable coupons here: http://www.verybestkids.com/

Purina Beggin strips – 2/$5 (coupons for $1 off in last week’s inserts)

Ozarka Spring water – $4 (there are coupons from the 5/18 Red Plum insert that expire on 8/31)

Hot pockets – $2

Lean Cuisine frozen entrees – $2.20 (printable coupons here: http://b.coupons.com/Start.asp?bt=wi&tqnm=rczncaj2188250&c=Le&o=8852&p=eanCuisin&cl=false&eb=1&z)

BOGO free:
Oscar Mayer hot dogs (use your All You FREE WYB and you will get another package for free also!)

Other deals:

Little Debbie snacks – 10/$10 (there is a .25/1 coupon that expires on 8/31…it will triple in TX)

Crest – 10/$10 (there is a $1/2 coupon from the P&G insert this month)

Hunts Snack Pack pudding – 10/$10 – use .30/2 coupon from recent inserts (it will triple in TX!)

Rice Krispie treats and Quaker granola bars – 2/$4 (there are $1/2 coupons for each of these)

Pillsbury crescent and cinnamon rolls – 10/$10 (there are printable coupons here: http://coupons.smartsource.com/WEB/index.aspx?Link=GLPAHOLHDARLS and on Pillsbury.com and there have been coupons in the inserts recently, too – free or almost free rolls!)

CVS ad (week of 8/10-8/16)

Next week is kind of a slow week for CVS, but there are a few decent deals:

Alavert/Alavert D will be $5.99 and you get $3 in ECBs back. There is a $4 printable coupon (see the link below), so it will be like you are making $1 in ECBs. The limit is one per household.
Here’s the link for the coupon:
https://alavert.origindata.com/wyeth/alavert/2008/

Buy 2 Lamisil or Lamisilk (foot cream, powder, gel, spray, or pump), get $10 ECB
It says that prices start at $7.59. There were $3 off Lamisilk and $4 off Lamisil coupons in the paper a few weeks ago, which means that if you use two coupons, you will be making $.

Spend $25 in baby products, get $5 ECB back:
Huggies diapers are $8.99
Huggies wipes are 2/$5
(Other items are: Johnson’s baby products – $2.99, Playskool toys – $7.99, umbrella stroller – $9.99, CVS cotton swabs – 2/$3, Enfamil – $23.99)

You have probably noticed that the prices of diapers have gone up A LOT (around $10.49/bag for Huggies/Pampers and most stores) lately, so this is a great price on diapers even without the ECBs. The Enfamil is also a great deal if you need formula and have formula checks! Buy the Enfamil, some CVS cotton swabs (or Huggies wipes), use a $2/10, and your formula checks, and you come out nicely.

You do not have to buy all $25 in products in one transaction. You can split them up. If you are doing different ECB deals, you can also do multiple transactions and use the ECBs earned from one deal to spend on the next deal so you are not spending as much out of pocket. (Of course, I have 5 CVS stores within 10 minutes of my house, so it’s no big deal to do multiple transactions!)

They are also having a deal on candy – spend $10, get $5 ECB. I won’t be doing this one because I sure don’t need more candy, but it’s not a bad deal, especially if you have any of the $1.50/1 Dove chocolate coupons that were in the paper a few months ago (which you would of course want to combine with the $2/10).

There is also this deal: Spend $15 on Energizer batteries, get a $5 ECB (I won’t be doing this because I have a ton of batteries, already). If you have the $1/1 coupons that were in the paper recently and used a $2 off coupon, it wouldn’t be too bad. If you don’t have the coupons, you can probably still order some on eBay or through a coupon clipping service. You’d need to buy 6 packages to make this work, and you’d still end up paying about $5 out of pocket, which isn’t bad if you need batteries.

Kroger this week (8/6-8/12)

In our area (which is considered the “Texas/Louisiana” region), the Kroger ad runs from 8/6-8/12. If you are in another area, there are probably some similarities, but things may not match up 100%. When in doubt, you can check the forum for your area on Hotcouponworld.com
It also includes Kroger “chain” stores such as Frys, King Soopers, and Dillons, and Smiths. If you don’t have a Kroger chain store in your area, you can find the grocery stores in your area here:

http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/grocery-stores/

These are just some of the deals I saw. This is not the entire ad. You can view the ad online. By the end of the day, there will probably be coupon match ups with more specific information up on Hotcouponworld.com, too!

*Tyson or Pilgrims Pride boneless chicken breast or chicken breast tenders – BOGO freethey run this sale about once a month, and I like to stock up when they do because I usually have coupons to go with it – there were Tyson coupons in the paper a few weeks ago and there have also been “tear pads” in stores. There were Pilgrims Pride coupons in the paper awhile back also. Remember that you can use TWO coupons on BOGO free items. I usually get two packages of chicken breasts for about $3.99 using the coupons. If you don’t have the coupons this time around, it may not be the best time to stock up….just start keeping an eye out for them for next time! Remember if you are doing a BOGO to pick two packages of chicken that are almost the same price so you get the most for your money. The cheaper package always comes off as the “free” one.

*Blue Bell ice cream – $3.99 – print your $1/1 coupons on www.bluebell.com You just have to sign up on their site, and once you log in, you will see a link that says “Special Offers” or “coupons” or something to that effect. They have new coupons every month.

*Crest toothpaste – 10/$10there were coupons in this week’s inserts for .75/1 and $1/2, which makes cheap toothpaste

*Pillsbury Crescent rolls or cinnamon rolls – 10/$10 – There were coupons for the crescent rolls in the 7/13 inserts and there are also printable coupons online for both types at www.smartsource.com (check Pillsbury.com, too, because a lot of times they have coupons, as well)

*Pringles – 10/$10 – You can load a .50/1 coupon onto your shopper card at: http://www.softcoin.com/Sites/PG_eSAVER/Page/HomePage/

*Angel Soft bath tissue – $5.99 – there are .50/1 coupons for this which will double making it $4.99

*General Mills Cheerios – $2.69 – There are printable coupons on Cheerios.com and www.eatbetteramerica.com and here: http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=rg5gbum23873403&bt=wi&o=53349&ci=1&c=CH&p=lKyAgofG
(There will be MUCH better deals on cereal, especially with school starting, but if you need cereal, it’s not a bad deal)

*Pop Tarts/Fruit Snacks – $1.80 There were $1/2 coupons in this week’s inserts and there were also fruit snacks coupons. The Pop Tarts are actually cheaper at CVS ($1.79/each) and you can use the $2/10 to make them even cheaper. There was a mail in rebate in Sunday’s paper for $10 when you buy 10 Kellogg’s products in one transaction

*Weight Watchers Smart ones – 6/$10 and 5/$10 – If you are a member of WW, you probably have tons of these. If not, here are some links to print coupons:
http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=rgzrekf27049484&bt=wi&o=51603&pt=&lang=&ws=&ct=&ci=&cl=&cp=&eb=1&c=BM&p=email0708_879699&z=&r=&pc=&tc=
http://www.eatyourbest.com/onlinecoupon/index.aspx?sid=62
(When you print “Bricks” coupons, you should be able to print 2 – just press the back button on your browser until it starts printing again)

*Pantene shampoo/conditioner – 2/$11 there were coupons for $1/2 in this week’s inserts (not the best deal, but again…if you need shampoo)

*
Colgate toothpaste – 2/$4 there were coupons in the paper two weeks ago and you can also print the coupons here: http://www.colgate.com/app/ColgateTotal/US/EN/SpecialOffers.cvsp

*Nature Made vitamins – BOGO free – you can print coupons here: (remember to use 2!)
http://www.naturemade.com/

*Electrasol dish detergent – $2.89 – there were coupons for $2.25/1 in the paper a few weeks back (these are actually cheaper at Target – $2.69)

No coupons, but still decent deals:

*
Kroger hot dog/hamburger buns – 10/$10
*Kroger shredded cheese – 3/$5
*Barilla pasta – 4/$5 (their no-cook lasagne noodles are AWESOME!)
*White seedless grapes – 97 cents/pound
*Yellow squash or zucchini – 4 pounds for $5
*Bartlett pears – 4/$5

Shopping at CVS just got better!

CVS sometimes release coupons that can be used to get a $ off when you spend a certain amount. These coupons used to be a LOT more common, but unfortunately, people were abusing them, so they are pretty rare now. When they do come out, CVS fans like to celebrate because it means we can save even more (and sometimes make money, too!).

There is an online version of this magazine, and on page 30, there is a coupon for $2 off a $10 purchase at CVS. Here’s the link:
http://www.richmondparents.com/rpm%20pdfs/RICPA072208.1-32web.pdf

If you’re just getting started and wanted to earn Extra Care bucks for the least amount out of pocket, here are a few scenarios:

Scenario #1: (if you don’t have yesterday’s paper)
Print up the coupons for 2 Colgate toothpaste here:
http://www.colgate.com/app/ColgateTotal/US/EN/SpecialOffers.cvsp

Print up the coupon for Advil here:
http://www.wyeth.com/specialoffers?rid=/wyeth_html/home/user_group_landing/for_pc/coupons.html

Print your $2/10 from the link above.

Buy 2 Colgate toothpaste (check the ad to make sure you are buying the right ones) and 1 Children’s Advil (the monthly deal also works on the infant drops). You will spend $5.77, but get $9.79 back in ECBs.

Scenario #2: (if you have at least one copy of yesterday’s paper)
Buy 2 Cover Girl face products (they range in price for $5.79-9.99….the more expensive, the better because you want to get to your $10 total!….also remember you want both products to be the same price basically or they will deduct the cheaper once twice)

Buy 2 Colgate toothpastes (use the links above to print coupons)

Buy 1 Oral B toothbrush (use the $1 off coupon from yesterday’s paper)

You will spend $2.47, but you will get back $5.50 in ECBs

Scenario #3: (also if you have at least 1 copy of yesterday’s paper)
Buy a Gillette Fusion razor (remember to check for the gift packs with the shave gel!)

Buy a small item (in couponing lingo, we refer to these as “fillers”) like a candy bar to get you over the $10 total

Use your $2/10 CVS coupon and your $4 Gillette coupon from yesterday’s paper. Spend $4.49 and get $3 back. (This isn’t the best deal but if you need a razor, it’s an inexpensive way to do it)

Here are a few other deals I missed in my first post:

*Kleenex are BOGO free this week. If you buy 6 boxes and use 2 of the .50/3 coupons that were in yesterday’s paper, you end up getting them for about .60/box.

*Pert Plus shampoo is BOGO free this week. There were $2 off coupons in yesterday’s paper. CVS will let you use two coupons (one for each item) when you are doing a BOGO free offer, so if you use buy 2 bottles of shampoo and use two of the $2 coupons, you get free shampoo.

*Sure deodorant is BOGO free and there was a BOGO free coupon a few week’s ago. If you have this coupon, you get the deodorant free.

There was also a mail in rebate form in yesterday’s paper for $5 on school supplies when you buy $5 in Pert/Sure products, so if you buy the deodorant/Shampoo and then $5 in school supplies (there are lots of good deals on school supplies this week including several BOGO offers), you could potentially get free shampoo, deodorant, and school supplies. The Bic White out is BOGO, so you could print out 2 coupons for .50/1 which would make it pretty cheap:
http://print.coupons.com/Couponweb/Offers.aspx?pid=13388&nid=20&zid=ns28

*Chex Mix is 2/$3. There is a printable coupon (see below) for $1/1, so you can get Chex mix for .50.

Sneak preview – ideas for CVS week of 8/3

If you know me very well, you know that I’ve become very fond of CVS. If you’re not familiar with their Extra Care Bucks program, you earn Extra Care Bucks (ECB for short) which basically acts like cash to be used on your next purchase when you purchase specific items. You need and Extra Care card (it fits on your key ring just like the grocery store frequent shopper cards). You can request one online at CVS.com or you can sign up in the store.

The Extra Care Bucks print off on the bottom of your receipt (along with coupons that can be used in the store). For a long time, we didn’t realize what they were and would just throw our receipts away! I haven’t spent any “real” money at CVS in a long time because I’ve been using my ECBs (about $100 worth) over and over again since December.

There are weekly deals (listed in the weekly ad) as well as monthly deals. Here are some “deals” that you can take advantage of during this upcoming week:

*Crest toothpaste (a variety of flavors) or Oral B toothbrushes – they will be $2.49 and you will get an ECB for $1.50. There will be $1 off coupons for the toothbrushes in Sunday’s paper and $.50-.75 off coupons for the toothpaste in Sunday’s paper. You can do this up to 5 times.

*Colgate toothpaste (MaxFresh, which we have grown to love, or Total Advanced) – it will be on sale for $2.99 and you earn a $2 ECB for each one you purchase. You can do this deal twice. There were $1 off coupons for the Total Advanced in last week’s paper and there are printable coupons here for $1.50 off:
http://www.colgate.com/app/ColgateTotal/US/EN/SpecialOffers.cvsp

*Children’s Advil – this is a monthly deal. It is on sale for $5.79 and you earn a $5.79 ECB (so it’s “free” after the ECB). You can do this deal twice. There is a printable coupon for $1/1 here:
http://www.wyeth.com/specialoffers?rid=/wyeth_html/home/user_group_landing/for_pc/coupons.html

*Venus Embrace, Vibrance, Breeze or Fusion razor – it will be on sale for 9.99 and you will earn 3.00 ECB. There will be a $2 off coupon for the Embrace/Vibrance/Breeze and a $4 off coupon for the Fusion in Sunday’s paper.
(This isn’t the greatest deal, but if you need a razor and you’re getting started, it’s not a bad deal. The Fusion is obviously a better deal than the Embrace/Vibrance/Breeze…the Fusion is Jason’s favorite razor)
An added tip – usually when these razors are on sale, there are gift packs with a travel size shave gel and moisturizer that also ring up at the sale price. Scan them at the scanner first, but if they ring up at $9.99, they are part of the deal and you will get the ECBs. I always get these when I do these deals so I get free shave gel, too!

*Pantene – it will be on sale 3/$10 and you earn a $2 ECB when you buy 3. There will be coupons for $1/2 in Sunday’s paper. Again, not the greatest deal, but if you need shampoo and like Pantene, it would be like getting it 3/$7.

*CoverGirl make up will buy one, get one free for foundation, powder, blush, and concealer. There will be a coupon for a free face product when you buy foundation in Sunday’s paper, so if you get a foundation and a face product (powder, blush, foundation, concealer, etc.) and use this coupon, everything will be FREE!
If you’re going to do this deal, make sure you buy two products that are comparable in price. The cheapest one always comes off as a part of the store’s “BOGO” deal and then when they deduct the “free” for the coupon, they will always take of the less expensive one, too, so you end up paying the difference.

If you are not wanting to spend very much out of pocket to start earning ExtraCare Bucks, you can transfer a prescription and get a free gift card. They have a coupon in this week’s ad for a $30 gift card when you do this. They will also honor competitor’s coupons (Kroger/Walgreens/Target).
