Thrifty Thursday: Guiltless Grill at Chili’s

I have talked about Bzz Agent before. Basically, it’s a word of mouth marketing network where you get to try products and share your experiences with others. This month, I got to try out the new Chili’s Guiltless Grill menu for free!

I seem to be on a constant quest to lose weight, so I had been aware of the Guiltless Grill menu at Chili’s for awhile, but in the past, it has been fairly limited (off the top of my head, I know they had a chicken sandwich and a chicken platter). The have expanded it and now they have some really great items to choose from including:

*Guiltless Carne Asada steak
*Guiltless Honey-Glazed or Grilled salmon
*Guiltless Buffalo or Grilled chicken sandwich
*Guiltless Chicken platter
*Guiltless Black Bean Burger
*Guiltless Cedar Plank Tilapia

All items on the Guiltless Grill menu are under 750 calories, 25 grams of fat and 8 grams of saturated fat. They area served with with steamed seasonal veggies and Parmesan cheese.

This time around, I went back and forth about what to order because I’d really like to try the Buffalo chicken sandwich, but I finally decided to try the steak. I was a little bit hesitant because I wondered how good a steak that was on a “guiltless” menu could really be. I was pleasantly surprised! The asada rub was very good and even though I get my meat “well done” it was not overcooked and was actually very tender. Even my husband who avoids anything “diet” related was surprised.

The Guiltless Grill is definitely worth checking out! You can view the menu (and nutritional information) here.

If you haven’t joined Bzz Agent yet, you should check that out, too! You can learn more about Bzz Agent in this post here.

The Crest, Colgate, and Glade coupons always seem to come in handy for Walgreens and CVS deals. Other than that, I don’t really see a lot of “hot” coupons this week, but maybe it’s just me. When I want multiple copies of the same coupon, I usually use The Coupon Clippers. Their turn around time is pretty quick and their prices are affordable. You can also check out eBay. For me, it’s cheaper to buy multiple copies of the one or two coupons that I need than it is to buy multiple papers.

CHILL OUT AT HOME PROMO
(most of this is reposted from last week)

If you have a grocery store that is part of the “Safeway” family of stores (Randalls/Tom Thumb/Dominick’s/Genuardi’s/Carrs/Vons/Pavilions), they are having a great promotion this month called the “Chill Out at Home” promotion. The way it works is that you spend $25 on selected frozen foods, and you get a $10 catalina back that is good on your next purchase. You can use the $10 catalina to “roll” into the promotion again (so you spend $15 or less depending on your coupons the next time around). The list of participating items is HUGE! You can check out the entire list here. If you haven’t already, check out my blog post here to see how much fun I’ve had already with this promotion!

Here are the prices for some of the items (YMMV on prices based on where you are located). I went to the grocery store and scoped out prices and participating items before I made my trip so that I could plan out scenarios. (this is NOT all of the items on the list – it is just some of the items I was pricing)

If you are in an area that has a Safeway store, this information comes from Slick Deals:Bird’s Eye Voila frozen meal kits – $3.99 (If you got Madagascar and saved your receipt, you can get a $5 MIR if you buy two of these!)

Check out your store’s coupon policies. At my store, they will double the face value of one “like” coupon up to .50 and triple the face value of one “like” coupon up to .39.

Fannie has a lot of information and some scenarios here on her blog. A word of caution: check the coupon policies for your area before applying these scenarios. In her area, they double multiple “like” coupons and double coupons with a higher face value.

Answer : Call Safeway at 1-877-723-3929 and ask. If denied call back as many times as necessary to get the discount applied to your card.
Alternate means of contact would be an email. http://shop.safeway.com/superstor…e=corphome Same thing email as many times as you need to in order to get the discount.

**KEY** There is no secret to getting this discount. The people who have it either have a store that has been remodeled or a grand opening. Others have called, called, and called again until they have received it.
