Looking ahead – CVS week of 8/24

DISCLAIMER: When I post these “look ahead” posts, it’s so that you can start planning and get coupons to match up if they are available. I only post them after I have seen ad scans on other sites, but sometimes the ads vary from market to market, so these may not be the exact ads that you get in your area. You can see the ad scans and full link on Hot Coupon World:

This actually looks like a pretty good week, which is a relief because the week of 8/17 is a SLOW week. There are tons of ECB deals. These are just the ones that stood out to me:

*Pepsi products, 4/$12, get $3 ECB back

*Buy Schick Intuition plus razor blades, get $5 (priced at $9.99)

*Tampax Pearl, 2/$8, get $2 ECB

*Carefree/Stayfree/OB, 2/$9, get $5 ECB (there are coupons for these)

*Playtex, $4.99, get $3 ECB (there are $1 off coupons for these)

*Kotex Light Days, $1.49, get $1.49 (Free after ECBs)

(apparently it’s women’s hygiene week at CVS)

*Zipfizz, $5.99, get $5.99 (Free after ECBs)

*Spend $15 on the following, get $5 ECBs (Centrum Kids – $7, Centrum Cardio or Caltrate – $9, Centrum – $11, Dimetapp – $7, Advil Cold & Sinus – $10, Advil – $10) – there have been LOTS of coupons for all of these

*Buy 2 CVS hand sanitizers, get $1 ECB (I don’t know the prices on these, but the pen looking ones are AWESOME!)

*Propel, Sobe, or Gatorade – 5/$5, get $2 ECB (not bad if you have the Sobe coupons)

*Buy $10 of Hershey’s candy, get a free candy dish

LOTS of BOGO deals (remember you can use two coupons if you have them!):

*Ajax dish detergent

*Colgate toothpaste/toothbrushes (couldn’t make out specific types)

*CVS batteries

*Kellogg’s cereals (couldn’t make out specifics, but Special K and Raisin Bran are pictured)

*Lays chips

*Revlon cosmetics

*Thomas English muffins

Free Chicken strips at Houston Chick Fil A locations

Chick Fil A is giving away FREE chicken strips for the next three days! If you visit a Houston area Chick Fil A location between 5 and 8 p.m. on 8/12-8/14, you can get three free chicken strips. They also apparently have a new dipping sauce that you can try. We haven’t actually done this yet, but from what I have read on other sites, you don’t have to bring anything special with you, but you do have to ask for it.

I really like Chick Fil A because they are very family oriented (they have family nights several times a month where they offer face painting and other fun things for the kids as well as a craft activity and Bible stories during lunch a few times a month and they are closed on Sundays, which is a rarity anymore). The kids also love the food, and they at least have some adult-oriented options.

ENJOY!
(and if you think that “free food” is too good to believe, I found the details here: http://www.cfasugarland.com/index.php?page=events)

**You might want to check to make sure your store will accept printable coupons first**

HOLLYWOOD VIDEO
Free Blu Ray rentals (one at a time) for the month fo August and $2.99 regular DVD rentals. This definitely is working in the Houston area, but it may be in select markets, so you may want to call your store first.

Walgreens deal on Kellogg’s snacks – ends today

There is a glitch that is causing double Register Rewards (RR) to be printed for the Kellogg’s snacks. This is confirmed to be working on the following products:

Items priced 4/$10:
*Special K bars
*Nutrigrain snack bars
*Pecan Sandies shortbread cookies

Items priced 5/$10:
*Pop Tarts
*Rice Krispie treats

The cheapest way to do this is to buy five of the 5/$10 items. (It’s even better if you have the Kellogg’s coupons from last Sunday’s paper).

You could also do this:
Buy six of the “snack” items listed above (use coupons from last Sunday’s paper if you have them).

In the same transaction, buy 4 of the following cereals:
12-20oz Raisin Bran, Smart Start, Fruit Loops, Corn Pops, Special K or Frosted Flakes
(there were also coupons for these in Sunday’s paper)

You would pay $22 if you didn’t have the coupons from the Sunday paper, and you should get 3 $5 RR (it will be 2 if they have fixed the glitch, but it has been reported by others that it is still working this morning). You can also send in for the $10 Kelloggs mail in rebate. So, after the RR and the mail in rebate, it would be like you made $3 buying these items (it will be even more if you have coupons).
