1.  Log into your Living Social account here (or create one here if you don’t have one – you’ll get a $5 credit automatically!!)

2.  Then, log into your Swagbucks account and click on “Special Offers” and then “Trialpay.”  Living Social should be one of the offers on the Trialpay wall!  Click through that link and you’ll get 280 Swagbucks, too!

3.  Click on the blue “Buy Now” button, enter your information, and you’re done!  They should e-mail you the code!

31 Ways to Save in 2011: Save using Amazon’s Subscribe & Save program!

Have you checked out Amazon’s Subscribe & Save program yet? If you don’t feel like paying for a membership to BJs, Costco, or Sam’s, you don’t have time to play the “drug store game” or you’re looking for affordable prices on household goods, you should definitely check out subscribe & save! Even though I still shop at CVS and Walgreens, I have found some deals on items such as batteries, toilet paper, and laundry detergent over the past few months using Subscribe & Save that were better than what I could get using coupons and ECBs or RRs.

Yesterday I talked about ways that you can earn Amazon gift cards in this post here.  It’s so awesome to be able to get items that you need for FREE!  Plus, with Subscribe & Save, you can get anywhere from 15-30% off!

Here’s how it works:

1.  Select an eligible item from participating products here.

2.  Choose a quantity and a delivery schedule from the box on the right hand side of your screen (you change this information or cancel at any time by clicking on “Your Account” and then “Manage Subscribe & save”)

3.  Enter payment information and click on “Sign me up”

NOTE:  I always choose six months as my delivery schedule and then I usually go in and cancel after I receive my shipment so that I can watch for deals the next time I need the item.

TIP:  Always check out the coupon center here to see if there are coupons you can “clip” to apply discounts at check-out.  I have noticed that Amazon has begun including the links to the coupons in the product listings as well, so make sure you scroll down in the listing to see if any coupons are available (they are usually listed under the pricing information).  These coupons are one time use.

Here are some products that are worth checking out:

Charmin Ultra Strong, Mega Rolls, 352 2-ply sheets per roll – $19.36 with the subscribe & save discount and clipless coupon– One Mega Roll is the equivalent of four traditional rolls, so it’s like you’re getting 72 traditional rolls. This breaks down to $1.07 per mega roll ($.27 per traditional roll) or $.03 per sheet, which is a pretty good deal, especially for 2 ply toilet paper!  My “stock up” price for the “good stuff” 2-ply is $.30 per roll.


Gillette Fusion Proglide Manual Cartridge, 8 ct – $19.80 with the subscribe & save discount – These are $26.99-$29.99 at most retail stores and they rarely have coupons or deals for them!

Philips Sonicare ProResults Brush Heads – $16.46 with the Subscribe & Save discount – these are $29.99 on average at most retail stores and there are rarely coupons or deals for them!

Prevacid 24 Hr Capsules – 42 ct – $10.19 with the Subscribe & Save discount – These are $24.99-$29.99 on average at most retail stores and even with coupons, they are more expensive than Amazon!

Zyrtec Allergy, 24 Hour 10 mg tablets (45 count) – $14.42 with the Subscribe & Save discount – These retail between $26.99-$29.99, and even with coupons and/or ECB/RR deals, you can’t beat this price! (Make sure you click on the “Buy Directly From Amazon” link)



One of my FAVORITE Subscribe & Save deals is the diaper deals and the Amazon Mom program.

If you haven’t joined Amazon Mom yet, it’s definitely worth it.  Your subscription is completely free and in addition to getting great savings on diapers, you also get other great coupons via e-mail.  They are currently offering 30% off select diapers and wipes when you choose the subscribe & save option.  You can sign up for Amazon Mom or learn more about the program by clicking here.  Amazon Mom will also give you a free three month subscription to Amazon Prime, which entitles you to free two day shipping, no minimum purchase required.  You can cancel your subscribe & save at ANY time (make sure you receive your order first!)

You can use the 20% January’s American Baby Magazine  in addition to the 30% Amazon Mom discount!  You can only use one coupon per order and the 20% will only come off one item.  They usually have these magazines for free at Babies’ R Us!

31 Ways to Save in 2011: Six ways to "fund" your Amazon addiction!

If you’ve been reading my blog for long, then you know I have a bit of an Amazon addiction. I cringe when I hear people say that they have Amazon gift cards that they won’t use because “they can’t really find much on Amazon.”  Over the past year, I’ve bought all sorts of things our family “needs” ranging from diapers and Pull Ups to batteries, a booster seat, over the counter medication, toilet paper, laundry detergent, and razor blades along with some fun things like toys, movies, and books!  The best part is that I’ve spent very little out of pocket on these items because I’ve been able to pay for them using gift cards!

Here are some ideas for ways that you can earn gift cards to fund your Amazon addiction and stick to your budget, too!

1.  Change jar ~ Since we use cash only, last year, my husband and I decided to start a change jar where we would keep all of the change we earned from purchases.  We were very surprised that we accumulated almost $200 last year by doing this!  Part of it went to help pay for a family vacation we took last summer.  The rest of it was “cashed in” for Amazon gift cards to buy Christmas gifts.  When you visit a Coinstar machine, you have the option of “cashing out” but then you have to pay 9.8 cents per dollar. They also have an option where you can get “free coin counting” if you opt for a gift card or gift certificate instead. Amazon is one of the choices and the e-certificates you get for Amazon never expire! They also offer gift cards for Albertson’s, Borders, Cabela’s, CVS, Eddie Bauer, iTunes, JC Penney, Lowe’s, Old Navy, Overstock.com, Regal Entertainment Group, and Starbucks.  We’ve already started filling our change jar again this year and my husband got me a cool digital coin counting cup as a stocking stuffer.  I can’t wait to see how much money we save this way this year!

2.  E-Poll ~ Epoll.com is a survey site that I have been with for several years now.  The surveys are typically fairly easy and usually relate to TV shows.  I usually get 2-3 surveys each month.  You earn points for completing the surveys which can then be exchanged for gift cards to Amazon and a number of other retailers including Best Buy, Target, Home Depot, and Red Lobster.

3.  My Points – My Points is an easy way to earn gift cards for Amazon or a number of other retailers.  All you have to do is read the e-mails they send, print and redeem coupons, shop through links on their site, or submit Bzz Agent reports.

4.  My Survey ~ With My Survey, you earn points for completing surveys.  They will send you a short screener, which is usually worth 5-30 points and then, if you qualify for the actual survey, it is usually worth anywhere from 150-400 points.  I have also done product testing for them for everything from cleaning products to diapers.  You can “cash out” your points for a check (in $10 increments), merchandise, or gift cards.  Some of the gift cards that they offer are:  Amazon, Paypal, CVS, and Bath and Body Works.  They also offer gift cards for restaurants such as Applebee’s, Chili’s, and Cracker Barrel.

5.  Opinion Outpost ~ Opinion Outpost is a survey site.  They will send you links when you potentially qualify for a survey.  Complete the screener and if you qualify, you will be able to complete a longer survery and earn points. You earn points for completing surveys and for every 50 “opinion points” you earn, you can choose to cash out for a check, a $5 Amazon gift card, or a $5 Citibank pre-paid credit card.  I joined last March and earned $272 just for completing surveys throughout the year!  You can learn more about Opinion Outpost here.

6.  Swagbucks – Swagbucks is one of my favorite “rewards” sites.  You earn points just for searching the web, which is something you do are probably doing on a daily basis anyway!  You can find out more about Swagbucks here.

Also, check with your bank to find out if they offer rewards if you use your debit card.  We recently found out that we were earning points from our bank for using our debit card and one of the participating retailers that we can cash out for gift cards with is Amazon!

By doing these simple things, you’ll be well on your way to cutting your budget on household expenses or funding your 100% cash Christmas!
