Target deals for the week of 1/10

Target now offers price matching. You can check out their policy here.

At Target, you can use one Target coupon and one manufacturer’s coupon per item. The printable Target coupons now state “one per transaction” meaning you can only use one “like” coupon per transaction. The Target coupons from the inserts do not have this wording and neither do the Target toy coupons. You can read/print their coupon policy here.

They are also offering a .05 credit when you bring in your own reusable shopping bag!

At my stores, toys are still 50%. Some stores have gone to 75% already. The baby clearance has started at some stores with markdowns between 15% and 30%.

*There is a printable coupon for a $10 Target gift card with any new or transferred prescription printable here (you can print 2 per computer) Competitor pharmacies (such as CVS and Walgreens) will usually also take these coupons. Check out my post here on how this works!

Frequently asked questions:

Do you really do multiple transactions at your stores?

In the past, I usually had $20-30 ECB on hand, so I didn’t have to break up my transactions as much as I did when I first started, but now that I am starting over, yes, I am doing multiple transactions. If you are doing multiple transactions, I recommend that you let the cashier know up front that is what you are planning to do. If there are several people in line, let them go in between your transactions. This gives you time to clip your ECBs and get prepared for your next transaction.

My store was out of all the freebie items first thing this morning. Can I get a raincheck?

This all depends on your store. I have contacted corporate about this before because some stores in my area give rainchecks and others won’t. According to corporate, this is up to the individual stores.

I bought the wrong item or I bought the RIGHT item and my ECB didn’t print. What can I do?

If you bought the right item, show the store clerk your ad and your receipt. They should be able to manually print your ECB at the store. If they don’t know how, you can call customer service and they can add one to your account that will print within 48 hours (you have to wait 48 hours from your purchase time to do this so they can “see” your transaction in their computer).

If you bought the wrong item and didn’t receive ECBs, you can do a return and purchase the correct item. If you paid using ECBs, they will have to give you money on a gift card.

Simply Clean Saturday: Things you can do in 10 minutes!

One of my goals for the New Year was to be more organized. Out of all of my goals, I think this one is going to be the most challenging for me. It seems like I’m always on the go and when I think about taking time to clean and organize, I just feel overwhelmed. Plus, I have two small children who aren’t really able to help with household tasks and it seems like as soon as I get one thing done, they’re undoing it. So, I get frustrated and things start to pile up.

Saturdays are particularly difficult because that’s my day to get all of my grocery shopping done for the week and my day to really deep clean and to run all of our other errands.

In an effort to start getting more organized without getting overwhelmed, I decided to come up with some household tasks that can be done in 10 minutes or less. It’s hard to find large chunks of time throughout the day, but I think anyone can come up with ten minutes!

Here are a few of the things that I came up with:

Tasks for the kitchen (in 10 minutes or less) ~
*Unload the dishwasher and wipe down the counters

Tasks for the bathroom (in 10 minutes or less) ~
*Scrub the toilet and clean the tub

Other household tasks ~
*Sort through the mail and throw out “junk mail”

*Vacuum one room

*Fold a load of laundry

What tasks can you do in 10 minutes or less?

Get your coupons from the Sunday inserts NOW!

If you’re wondering what coupons are going to be in the Sunday inserts this week, you can check out this link here. Keep in mind that the dollar amounts of the coupons vary by area. For example, last week some areas got $2/1 All laundry detergent coupons, but my area only get $1/1. Fortunately, I was able to snag some from My Coupon Hunter (yes, she still has some of those available!)

One of the tricks to stockpiling is being able to use coupons to buy several items at once when they go on sale. Knowing the sale trends and cycles is helpful because if you wait until you actually find out that the item is on sale, usually it’s too late to buy coupons because either everything you want is gone or they have gone up in “price.” My Coupon Hunter also has the new coupons available already! From my experience, turn around time is quick. Plus, she doesn’t have minimum purchase requirements, doesn’t put limits on quantities, and shipping is reasonable. You also don’t have to worry about inserts piling up all over your house because the coupons are already clipped and you get exactly what you want and need. You can check out all of the coupons that she has available here (click on “New Coupons” to see the latest additions).

Here are some of the highlights that I think are “hot” coupons. I have included some possible uses for these coupons. This is based on previous experiences with sales that have typically happened at this time of year, but I can’t guarantee that there will be the same sales this year.

GROCERY:

$.75/2 Ball Park beef, meat, or Angus franks – expires 2/28/10

$.50/1 Birds Eye Steamfresh Vegetables – expires 2/7/10 – if your grocery store doubles coupons, you can get these FREE – I got 13 for free a few weeks ago when they were 10/$10 at my store!

$.35/3 Chef Boyardee 15 oz cans or 7.5 oz microwaveable cups – expires 2/28/10 – get 3 for $1.95 when they go 10/$10 if your grocery store triples coupons! (these are also frequently part of the Kroger Mega sales and one should be coming up soon!)

$.35/1 Hillshire Farms Deli Select Ultra Thin or Hearty Slices Lunchmeat – expires 2/13/10 – if your grocery stores triple coupons, you’ll probably be able to get these for $1 when they go on sale!

$.75/1 Mission Tortillas – expires 2/21/10 – these don’t come out very often and we LOVE tortillas in our house 🙂

$.75/1 Quaker Rice and Multigrain Snack – expires 2/18/10 – these go on sale 10/$10 pretty often and are often included in the Kroger Mega sales (there should be one coming up in a few weeks!) which would make them just .25!

CLEANING SUPPLIES: If you need to stock up on cleaning supplies, there will probably be good deals to match up with these coupons coming up (Scrubbing Bubbles and Windex are part of the BOGO free sale at Randalls this week!)

$.75/1 Fantastik all purpose cleaner – expires 3-7-10

$.75/1 Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner – expires 3-7-10

$1/1 Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel – expires 3-7-10

$1/1 Windex Multi-surface product – expires 3-7-10

HEALTH/BEAUTY:

$2/1 Clean & Clear – expires 2/10/10 – get great deals on these when there are sales!

$2/1 Ecotrin Aspirin Therapy – expires 3/31/10 – you can typically get this free at Walgreens when it goes on sale

$1/1 Garnier Fructis Shampoo, Conditioner, or Treatment – expires 2/15/10 – these coupons used to be fairly common, but they haven’t been putting them out as much as they used to…get yours now for deals at CVS and Walgreens so you can stock up on shampoo and styling products!

$1/1 Maybelline Mascara – expires 2/15/10 – use 2 of these when they are on sale Buy One, Get One Free and get super cheap mascara!
