Free Weekend Family Fun and Activities Round-Up!

Looking for some free family fun this weekend?  Here is a round up of free activities and events.  It’s always a good idea to check with your local store before going to make sure that they are participating (especially if you’ve got a drive).

Here are the free activities for the week:

American Girl – Summer Flower Anklet Craft. Your girl can put her best—and most fashionable—foot forward. This free event will let her create a tropical anklet for herself using colorful paper flowers. She can also craft an anklet just for her doll! Free and open to the public. For girls ages 8 and up.

-Isabelle’s Scavenger Hunt. Learn about Isabelle, our newest Girl of the Year! Your girl will go on a seek-and-find scavenger hunt throughout the store, collecting fun facts about Isabelle along the way. Plus, she’ll get a free American Girl poster at the end! Free and open to the public. For girls ages 8 and up

– Celebrate summer reading with American Girl! At this craft event, your girl will decorate her own bookmark and summer reading log to keep track of all the great books she’ll read over break. Includes a doll-sized poster to take home. Free and open to the public. For girls ages 8 and up.

Apple Camp – Kids between the ages of 8-12 can register to attend Apple Camp FOR FREEE!  They’ll learn to make their own movies, create interactive books, and more!  Sign up here–> Apple Camp

Apple Stores – Check your local store for weekly workshops and youth programs

Disney Store – Summer Play Days are coming to Disney Store! Join us for the kick off on Monday, June 2nd at 2pm and receive a FREE lanyard*. Store events include Art of Animation, Trivia, Story Time and Showtime. Stop by every week and receive a character button. Events take place every day from June 3rd to Sept 1st. *While supplies last. Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores – Free demos every Saturday, check your store here for more details.

Lakeshore Learning – Saturday, July 19th  from 11-3 pm, kids can make a Wiggly Eyed Glitter Fish.

Lowes Build and Grow – There is no class this week.  The next class will be on Saturday, July 26th at 10 a.m., kids can make a Turbo Taco Truck from the DreamWorks movie Turbo.  Register for this class as well as other future classes here

Michael’s Kids Club:  Check back for fun classes for the whole family.

Microsoft Stores – Check your local store for classes and special events for the whole family.

Pottery Barn Kids – Summer Reading Program, now through July 17th.  Kids who read any 8 titles from the recommended book list will receive a free book (supplies limited).  Complete the challenge together by attending their weekly story time.

-Tuesday’s from 11-11:30 a.m., Story Time.

Target – select a city to find free or reduced-price admission to arts and cultural events in your area, sponsored by Target.

The Home Depot – The next class will be on Saturday, August 2nd from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., where kids can build a mini crate pencil holder.  All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last.  Register for this class as well as future classes here.
