Grandparent’s Day Craft: Memory Book

Just a reminder. . . Grandparents Day is this coming Sunday.

I absolutely love this gift idea!  For holidays such as mother’s day, father’s day and grandparent’s day, I am all about giving meaningful keepsake type gifts that the recipient can enjoy for years to come.  This memory book is perfect.  Basically, you have your child interview his/her grandparent about the grandparent’s life and then the grandchild takes that information and creates a book with it.  Not only does the grandparent receive a book all about him made by his grandchildren, but the grandchildren get the opportunity to learn about the life of their grandparents.  This is a craft all about creating memories.  Thanks She Knows!

Here is what you need to make this memory book:

  • Tape recorder
  • Construction paper or card stock
  • Staples
  • Pen, markers, pencil, stickers, ribbon and other items to decorate the book
  • Old photographs of grandparents

Grandparent's Day Craft: Handprint Cards

Grandparent’s Day is September 9th, which is only a couple weeks away.  Yikes!  Where did August go?  When it comes to gift ideas, I am always a sucker for handprint crafts and this one is so sweet.  The handprint opens up and you place a cute saying and picture of your kiddo inside.  I know Grandpa and Grandma will love this!  Thanks Life Is Sweet!

Here is what you need to make this card:

  • finger paint
  • white paper and scrapbook paper
  • scissors
  • glue
  • marker
  • small picture of your child

Father’s Day Gift Idea: Soda Pop Candy

Here is a cute Father’s Day gift idea for those dads with a sweet tooth.  All you need are old soda bottles and dad’s favorites treats.  Fill the bottles with the goodies then place the cap back on.  I know IBC Root Beer bottlecaps can be twisted back on, but I am not sure about other soda brands.  Then you just use scrapbooking paper or contact paper for labels and to cover the box.  It might even be cute to place pictures of the kiddos on the bottles as labels or to have the kids write messages to dad on them.

Thanks for another great idea,  The Idea Room!

Father’s Day Craft: Candy Card

This is another pinterest find, thanks to Bits of Everything.  It is the perfect Father’s Day present for all those candy lovers out there.  My husband would drool over a card like this!  You can customize it with your own sayings and candy choices or for those of us lacking in the creativity department you can just copy this example.  I am sure the kids would love helping to create this card… and taste testing the goodies along the way.
