Giveaway Round-up!

Don’t forget about my $10 My Coupon Hunter gift certificate giveaway that ends tomorrow night!  It never hurts to enter.  I recently entered a giveaway for a $20 HEB gift card thinking there was no way I’d win and I was shocked to find out I DID win!

There are plenty of other great giveaways going on right now across the blogosphere.  Here are a few of my favorites:

*Budget Saving Mom is giving away 3 $25 Home Depot gift cards.  The giveaway ends on 3/3.

*Jess from It’s All About the Savings is giving away a Mac & Cool.  I had never heard of these before, but they look really cool and I think it would really come in handy for my kids!  Her giveaway ends on 3/8, so there’s still plenty of time to enter!

*Savor the Savings is giving away a $25 PF Chang’s gift card.  The giveaway ends tomorrow night, so hurry and enter!

*Julia at The Frugal Find is giving away 5 $10 Burger King gift cards.  She is also giving away 5 $15 Quiznos gift cards and 3 $50 Safeway gift cards.  My kids LOVE Burger King, my husband LOVES Quiznos, and I can’t wait to start doing the “Spend $25, get $10 OYNO” deal at my Randalls store, so that $50 gift card would sure come in handy.  No matter what, someone in my family would be happy if we won one of these giveaways!

*A Silly Mommy of Two Girls is also giving away a $50 Safeway gift card (can you tell that I REALLY want to win a Safeway gift card?)  Her giveaway ends on 3/15.

Do you have a great giveaway to share?  Or, did I miss out on a hot giveaway that’s going on?  Feel free to link up and share below!

Free Redbox code: valid through Monday, 3/1 only

I just got the latest Redbox free rental code in my inbox. The code is RBXLUV4U  and can be used once per card through 11:59 p.m. tomorrow night (3/1).

Here are a few other codes that may work if you have not used them before:
BREAKROOM
DVDONME
REDBOX

For use at Walgreens only: DVDATWAG

You can use these codes once per card (you do have to swipe a credit or debit card to “rent” the movie).

To learn more about Redbox (or to find a location, see what’s available, or reserve a selection online), check out their blog here and their site here.

If you are new to using Redbox, Dealseeking Mom has a great tutorial here.

Hot Deal Alert for Safeway family store shoppers: Spend $25 on select frozen foods, get a $10 catalina

If you have a grocery store that is part of the “Safeway” family of stores (in my area, it’s Randalls, but it also includes Tom Thumb/Dominick’s/Genuardi’s/Carrs/Vons/Pavilions), the spend $25 on select frozen food items, get a $10 catalina to use on your next purchase deal starts today and runs through the end of March!  The way it works is that you spend $25 on selected frozen foods, and you get a $10 catalina back that is good on your next purchase. You can use the $10 catalina to “roll” into the promotion again (so you spend $15 or less depending on your coupons the next time around).

Last year, I had a blast with this promotion and ended up with a freezer full of food for next to nothing.  The list of participating items last year was huge and I’m sure it will be again this year, so stay tuned for coupon match-ups and scenarios.

Right now, there are two things that caught my eye:

Smucker’s Uncrustables are part of the promotion.  They are 2/$5 at my stores.  There is a $1/1 Uncrustables printable (I recommend printing NOW because it may disappear when coupons re-set tomorrow because it’s the beginning of the month) that you can use with this deal.

Here’s a possible scenario (assuming you can get your hands on several printable coupons):

Buy 10 Smucker’s Uncrustables

Use 10 $1/1 printable coupons (you would need access to 5 computers to print this many)

Spend $15 OOP, get a $10 OYNO catalina (this can be used to purchase items that are part of the “freezer deal” again or it can be used to purchase other grocery items)

Also, California Pizza Kitchen pizzas are part of this deal (they are priced at $5.99 in my ad).  I just got the information on an upcoming catalina deal from my Kroger store this week and typically the Kroger and Randalls catalinas overlap in my area.  Here’s the scoop on the catalina: (keep in mind that this is confirmed for the Kroger family of stores only at this point…I’m just hoping the Safeway stores will have it, too)

Buy California Pizza Kitchen Pizza between 3/5 and 3/28:

Buy 2, get $1 OYNO
Buy 3, get $2 OYNO
Buy 4 or more, get $3 OYNO
(Catalina # 07330 10226 19060 0906 5500 0982)

If Safeway stores are participating in this catalina deal, too, I’m hoping that you can double dip between the two deals.

SCENARIO: (if the catalina is working at Safeway stores)
Buy 4 California Pizza Kitchen pizzas – $5.99/each
Buy 1 Smucker’s Uncrustables – $2.50

Use $1/1 Smucker’s Uncrustables printable

Spend $25.46 OOP, get a $3 OYNO catalina (for the pizza) and a $10 OYNO (for the frozen foods promotion)

**There aren’t any California Pizza Kitchen coupons out right now, but hopefully some will come out to make this deal any better.  Again, I can’t guarantee that both promotions will work, either.

I mainly wanted to give you a  “heads up” so you could work on getting the Uncrustables coupons printed.  I wouldn’t jump on this deal just yet because there will likely be a lot more items than what is listed in the ad that will be part of this deal!

*This week you can “roll” the Kimberly Clark $5 RR into the $5 Tylenol deal and vice versa
*This week, you can “roll the $3 Crest, Aveeno, and Schick RR back and forth

Some helpful tips:
*At Walgreens, you can use ONE manufacturer’s coupon and ONE store coupon per item

*At Walgreens, you cannot do a promotion more than once in a transaction and earn Register Rewards. (for example, you cannot buy 2 Gillette razors in one transaction because you will only earn one RR)

*You also typically cannot use the Register Rewards earned from a promotion on the same promotion and earn Register Rewards again. For example, if you buy the Goody hair bands and use the RR from that to buy another one, your RR will not print.

*Register Rewards are considered to be “manufacturer’s coupons” and you can only use one manufacturer’s coupon per item. You will have to add “filler” items. The in ad coupons often have good, inexpensive filler items. (there are LOTS of great filler items this week – check out the weekly match-ups for ideas)

*If you are using more than one RR in a transaction, always give the RR with the highest value FIRST. Sometimes strange things happen with coupons and taxes and even if you think you have planned out your scenario very well, you will end up with more overage than you planned for.

*If you are buying items that would result in a “free” item or “overage” when combining a store coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon, give the manufacturer’s coupon FIRST, and the store coupons LAST to avoid beeping/issues at the register! Make sure that you are purchasing enough items in your total transaction to “cover” the overage. You will not get cash back and you will have to add items to cover the overage or they will not take the coupon.

*If your Register Reward doesn’t print for some reason and you have fulfilled all of the obligations for the “deal” (including not using RR from the same parent company to pay) DO NOT let them tell you it is because you used coupons! Chances are they didn’t print because the catalina machine is not working. You have two choices: you can return your items and try again or you can contact the catalina company by doing the following:
*The store will give you a form to fill out and mail in to catalina
*Call 1-888-8coupon, option 3
*Use the online form to contact them: Contact Catalina Marketing (when I have tried contacting them this way, my results have not been very good….your best bet is to call)

Target deals for the week of 2/28

The Target ad itself this week is one of the most disappointing ads I’ve seen in awhile.  Most of the “deals” posted in this post are unadvertised deals or carry-overs from last week.   (Thanks to Totally Target for the “heads up” on some of the price cut information)

NEW AT TARGET: Electronics trade-in ~ Trade in your new or used iPod or iPhone for a Target gift card.

Get Text Alerts from Target: receive coupons, deals, and weekly ad reminders on your mobile phone – use a barcode that can be scanned at check-out for multiple one time only coupon deals throughout the month.  The text alerts for mobile coupons appear to be released on Sundays and appear to be valid for one week only (when the new round is released on Sundays, the old round disappears).

Target now offers price matching. You can check out their policy here.

At Target, you can use one Target coupon and one manufacturer’s coupon per item. The printable Target coupons now state “one per transaction” meaning you can only use one “like” coupon per transaction. The Target coupons from the inserts do not have this wording and neither do the Target toy coupons. You can read/print their coupon policy here.

They are also offering a .05 credit when you bring in your own reusable shopping bag!

Here is the “reported” markdown schedule (YMMV):  (many people are reporting finding hot clearance deals in what was formerly the “bulk” or “value pack” section of the store, so make sure you check that out!)
Regular Markdown Schedule in other Departments
